Training Center for LIS Specialists in Lithuania: Working Nationally and Internationally

The aim of this paper is to present a model of continuing professional development (CPD) for the specialists of Library and Information Services (LIS) in Lithuania. Activities and core profiles of the Training Center for LIS Specialists in Lithuania (TCLIS) developed during its activities in the last four years are analyzed with an emphasized attention on: 1) the context of global tendencies, national peculiarities, and regional initiatives in CPD for LIS; and 2) the philosophy and profile of TCLIS.
